Yasuma Horio

—Tsugaru shamisen player—

It is not just about skill.

Sometimes noble

And sometimes unrestrained

A powerful sound that weeps with deep sorrow—

The world of Yasuma Horio.

Tsugaru shamisen player, born on August 25, 1970 in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.

In May 2013, won the Nitabo Award and first prize in the General Section A class of the most prestigious Tsugaru Shamisen competition held in Kanagi-cho, Aomori, the 25th All Japan Tsugaru Shamisen Kanagi Competition. Won many other awards.

Invited to hold concerts both in Japan and overseas, in Russia, Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok) and more.

His sound and playing posture bring to life the scenery of Tsugaru.

He plucks the strings and hits them with the plectrum fiercely, from beginning to end.

The timbre thus spun resonates with the audience's hearts creating a sense of unity.
